It seems every time we have a party at RE/MAX Garden City it never is an isolated event. It always becomes an annual tradition. And that’s certainly the way it has been with Halloween. Costumes, contests, pot luck, lots of fun.
I think the fact that we have a diner goes a long way in promoting and facilitating our social functions. What a great spot to network, with 4-top tables and booths, it’s comfortable to sit and visit. And what a great venue for a pot luck. After all, eating is a very social event, and when it comes to good eating you can’t beat the variety and authenticity of a bunch of gourmets whipping up their specialty dishes. We mentioned prizes, of which there were four categories. Two having to do with food. One awarded for the scariest dish and the other for the tastiest. And contending were scary looking salads and ghoulish desserts along with some very delightful pulled pork laced with some form of delicious marinated sauce, along with homemade donuts and custom desserts. And that doesn’t do full justice to the array of options available.
On the costume side of things, we were looking for the most creative and the most impactful. Some people came up with amazing store-bought costumes while others put on their thinking caps and created a look from scratch. We wanted to recognize both.
Judges for the event were Curt Anderson from YOUR Legal Services and Lucas Leger from D.L.C. Easy Street Mortgages, our in-house legal and mortgage services.
Lunch was rolled out at 12:30pm and contest results were announced at 1:30pm. In between and on into the afternoon, people came and went while others stayed from beginning to end. Wandering into the diner was certainly an interesting experience. Spider man sitting next to an overgrown baby or a spice rack and the king of real estate between a fair damsel and a witch.
We have an amazing group here at RE/MAX Garden City. Whether they are sitting together in courses, or working together on deals, out on the golf course or having a party in the diner, they really do enjoy each other. They support each other. And they always make us proud. In spite of the fact that once a year they are basically unrecognizable.
