With COVID beginning to recede, things are gradually getting back to normal at RE/MAX Garden City. Oh, we’ve got a ways to go before life will be totally back to what we once enjoyed and took for granted, but the signs are there. Unlike the early lockdowns, we have remained open at all our offices in Niagara. And while we still aren’t able to enjoy unfettered networking in our diner or at any of our regular socials, we are getting closer.
Take training for example. Training has always been a key part of life at RE/MAX Garden City. Taking new licensees and helping them get established in their real estate careers and providing a learning framework for experienced agents to help them move up and move ahead.
Throughout the Pandemic, we continued with our weekly video update, embracing everything from case studies and legal updates to recognitions of Agent Anniversaries and sales accomplishments. We continued to roll out our monthly e-newsletter, providing statistical updates and market analyses as well as topical information for the benefit of clients and agents alike.
Most recently, we have re-instituted classroom training, in small groups of course, revisiting the classic Floyd Wickman “Sweathog” program. This is a weekly spaced learning program focusing on the basics of prospecting and salesmanship. In these classes, our newer agents learn how to effectively work with buyers and sellers, finding the right home, the right fit and completing the deal.
Amber Bull, our lovely and talented Marketing Director is back on site. For some time due to COVID and home schooling she was restricted to working from home. Now that school is out and restrictions are loosening, she’s back at her post. It’s great to have her here in person again.
There are a few things yet to open up, of course. Open houses are still being curtailed as well as large gatherings and socials. But with substantial increases in vaccine rollouts and new daily COVID infections as well as positivity rates both down significantly, it’s only a matter of time till things get back to normal. We are well on our way.
